Our methylene blue in a concentration of 1% in aqueous solution (Ph. Eur.) is a dye with a deep blue tone. The solution consists of purified water and high-quality methylene blue (USP Pharma Grade) which is free of heavy metals.

Ph. Eur. vs. US Pharma Grade:
US Pharma Grade refers to the standards set by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). While both standards have high quality and purity requirements, the Ph. Eur. focuses more on the uniformity and quality of production within European countries. The US Pharma Grade, on the other hand, focuses more on the specific requirements of the American market.

What is methylene blue?
Methylene blue (methylthionium chloride) is a synthetic dye, a derivative of phenothiazine. It was first synthesized in 1876 by Heinrich Caro and patented as the first "tar dye".
